The series follows Richard, a bit-part actor, who returns to his family home in Scotland to help his recently widowed father, Ken. Ken is an eccentric, strong-willed technophobe who is set in his ways. Richard soon realizes that his father may need more full-time help than he initially thought.  

The series explores the relationship between father and son, as well as the challenges of aging and intergenerational differences. It also features humorous situations and witty dialogue.

This is a six-part series produced by Happy Tramp North. The series was written by Bryce Hart and directed by Al Campbell and Holly Walsh. Ursula Haworth is the producer, and Neil Webster is the executive producer.

The show stars Gregor Fisher and Greg McHugh. McHugh called working with Fisher a “dream come true.” He also said the character of Richard is the closest role to himself, adding, “I sometimes find him a bit annoying, although people who know me might say the same about me.”

The cast also includes Mason Forbes, Amy Lennox, Clare Barrett, Robin Laing, Paul Rattray, and Jennifer Saunders, who voices a character. The show explores themes like mortality, aging, parent-child relationships, and differences between generations.
